15+ Best Airbnbs Gold Coast Australia

The Gold Coast has a reputation. And for the most part, the stereotypes and cliches ring true.

Yet for the few that make some Queenslanders cringe, there are ten times more that have us on the edge of our seat itching to purchase a beachfront property. You can go surfing in the morning, grab an early flat white with a delicious brunch and then follow it up with a waterfall hike, spotting Australian wildlife along the way.

From the golden sand beaches, the towering skyscrapers and the rustling sounds of the hinterland, Airbnbs on the Gold Coast are varied in design but common in functionality and comfort. The toughest choice will be choosing between the sounds of the waves gently rolling in or the chirping birds and whispering winds among Australian fauna.

Here’s our round up of some of the best Gold Coast Airbnbs to suit a range of tastes and needs. Book yourself in for a night or a week – this is by far the best way to see all that the Gold Coast has to offer.

Tree House Studio

Burleigh Heads

Tucked away amongst the trees, this space is the epitome of tranquility. Elements of nature filter through to the inside, from the pine green feature wall above the kitchen, small posies of wild foliage and flora in vases and tree trunks holding up the small high table.

Hideaway in the Hinterland

Rustic glamour can be found in the Gold Coast Hinterland at this cabin in the woods which wouldn’t go astray in a Hollywood romantic rom-com or a horror movie – we somehow can’t decide.

Two queen beds provide space for a group of 4 to engage in rambling walks down to the creek or meandering strolls to the paddocks before returning to the cabin to play the piano by the fire with a few bottles of vino. The clawfoot bathtub adds a wonderful nostalgic touch, these antique elements rarely seen inside homely places such as this one.

The interior is bathed in an abundance of natural light, providing a coziness during rare dreary days, encouraging the stressed and tired folk to find some peace or allowing creatives to find inspiration in the hinterland.

Being tucked away in the bush, visits from serpent friends or insect critters are to be expected. Check these details with the hosts.

Safari in the Clouds

Soar into the Gold Coast Hinterland with a getaway at this cosy tent where you can kip out under the stars with all the luxuries of home.

Spend a day outdoors, hiking the nature trails and exploring the area around Killarney Glen, the renowned heart shaped waterfall. Then, sink into the glorious deep bathtub and let the hot water soak your muscles as you sip on a glass of bubbly and the crickets chirp out of sync as dusk falls.

Greet a new day out on the balcony and sit out in the sunshine listening to the birdsong with your breakfast and a cup of coffee. This is the spot where you can really detach from the modern world with no wi-fi provided. So bring your beverage of choice, select a DVD for an old-school movie night and kick back in the four poster bed.

Mermaid Beach

With a hop, skip and a jump and you’ll be at the beach!

This fresh, modern condo is situated only 50 metres from Nobby Beach and very close to one of our favourite cafes on the Gold Coast, Forreal Kitchen. It’s a suitable base for a pair who are keen to enjoy the sun, surf and sand by day and then chill out in the outdoor area on balmy evenings.

1960s Weekender

Mermaid Beach

From the outside, this Airbnb is reminiscent of its motel heyday in the 1960s. But step inside, and you’re thrust forward into contemporary, 21st century style.

The owner has done a magnificent job in renovating this townhouse, the perfect spot for a young family or a group of friends that don’t mind bunking together. Replete with timber flooring, a full kitchen and funky outdoor furniture, the space is perfect for chillaxing if you need a bit of respite from the Queensland sun.

Our favourite thing is the beach wagon available to borrow if you’re taking a full kit down to the beach – just make sure you’re not caught pushing it back up a hill!

We think that this retreat would suit two couples travelling together and neither pair would need to fight too hard for the best bedroom as each one is kitted out with a generous Queen bed with adjoining terrace.

Unzip the tent and wake to breathtaking sunrises the colour of soft apricots. At the end of the day, pour yourself a glass of vino and sink back in the camping chairs in front of the fire. Delight as dusk falls and the twinkling stars appear in the night sky. Be patient because you very well may catch sight of a shooting star.
